Just wondering what is the best state and city for pool action and good weekly and monthly tournaments in a non widespread area..? And the positive and negatives of each of one over one another. Any game 1 pocket, 9, 10 , banks. There has to be places that you can get into cheap action all day every day with different people and the same with tourneys? At least 1 a day every day? Table size doesn't matter as well.
Any info here will be much appreciated.

Thanks

NOT Chicago, I can tell you that. Use to be in the top of the heap at one time, but no more :(

Ohio used to be a great place. But, those days are long gone. Seems all the rooms and tours have converged south to the southeast states.....:(:(

This may be true compared to years ago, but I am able to find a decent tournament within an hour of Columbus almost every day. (I live an hour north of Columbus) Wednesday through Saturday anway. Most of the competition seems to be in the C and B range with a handful of A- and A players.

Is it really much better anywhere else?

Just about anywhere besides Kingman AZ. We dont have a pool room at all...there is a handful of shooters here but theres only 4-5 bars around that we can shoot at (beat up old BB's is all we have)...Salt Lake City has a pretty good pool scene as does Phoenix AZ. Upstate NY didnt have a lot of places to play but the caliber of the "average" players out there was awesome!

I'm sure Vegas has to be up there as far as nice tables, the amount of action and the caliber of players...There was no shortage of nice places to play and good players around Denver Co. too....It would be hard for me to pick out a "best" as I have not played everywhere but anywhere with an actual pool room would suffice...lol

I am in Central Ohio also. I play in Columbus a lot. Let me know if you are interested in a game.
