Just curious which tournaments are the best for you to attend each year?

Please post and explain why. i.e., game, money added, friends attending, close to home and more! You can choose more then one event to vote for.

Thanks so much!

I voted for any tournament that is non-UPA sanctioned, which is all of the above.

My personal all-time favorite is the Derby City Classic because it is player-friendly and offers a variety of competitions, consisting of 9-ball, One-Pocket, Banks, and bar-box mini tournaments throughout the event. The ring game, consisting of Earl Strickland, Corey Deuel, Rodney Morris, Jimmy Wetch, Alex P., and the president of the UPA is going to provide some great entertainment (IMO) to all, thanks to Billiard Club Network.

The US Open because I can always seem to schedule a conference in the VA Beach area about the same time the tournament is taking place. It's also a great location and the field is usually one of the best of the year.

How anyone could vote for anything other than DCC or the US OPEN is beyond me.

Then of the two the Derby City has to be the best by far.

chicago - windy city

Chicago is a great city, but not for pool. GREAT SCALA BEEF AND VIENNA HOT DOGS. POOL LEFT CHICAGO MANY YEARS AGO. WINDY CITY EXPO IS A JOKE, ASK THE VENDORS.

BEST TOURNAMENT TO ATTEND

TO ME, THERE IS ONLY ONE CHOICE - DERBY CITY. LOTS OF PLAYERS - ACTION - CUES USED AND NEW FOR SALE AND STAKEHORSES WITH MONEY AND THE WILL TO PUT IT IN ACTION. PEOPLE THAT ATTEND THIS EVENT FOR THE MOST PART ARE REALLY INTO POOL, NOT JUST A BUNCH OF DRUNKS CLAIMING TO BE PART OF THIS GREAT GAME.

MORE OPINIONS BY JMB

NEXT THOUGHT - READ MY PREVIOUS ABOUT DERBY CITY, PEOPLE Attending this tournament [more than a tournament] certainly dont think girls are equal players with men. except Sarah.

JMB, you do have a way with words.

I personally know and spoke to a couple of vendors who attended the last Windy City Open, and they were boasting about it as a successful event, lots of players and pool enthusiasts.

As far as the players go, I can think of a couple who live there who may tend to disagree with your opinion, but to each his own.

Are you always this cantankerous, or is this just your sparkling forum personality?

I agree MS. Grady Mathews and Greg Sullivan deserve a ton of credit and many thanks for making the entire show available, LIVE, for only $9.95.
