This would be the first thing that comes to mind when you have it...however I would move the CB to shoot the 8 in the lower RH corner aswell and come over to shoot the 9 in the upper RH corner....when you start getting wide angles in the side pocket I found them to be easy to rattle out...so why shoot it there when there are 5 others to choose from in this situation...Hal said:This is what I did: A bank shot never occured to me.

Hal said:Well I guess I should mention that my side pockets are very large. On my table, the side pocket is the way to play it. On a tighter table, I think I would attempt to draw straight back and play the 8 ball in the same pocket as the 7 ball.
With that said, I ended up with an angle that I felt comfortable with by slightly cheating the pocket and putting follow on the cue ball.
