Big Ball return help.

First off i would like to say that playing with the big ball SUCKS! I hate it..
Now on to my question. The local bar by my house has 2 bar tables with big ball set up. I brought 2 regulation size balls to hit around on there. I put one in the pocket and it returned to me 2 times and then at other times it would not, why I dont know. I thought the mechanism in the return setup was based on just the size am i wrong? Or does weight have a factor? Also is there a easy way to make these pool tables consistantly return regulation cue balls, with out getting new tables?

Steal the cueballs and throw them on the roof of the bar then the bar has to replace them. Not really, please.(we used to do that with crappy cuesticks at an old dive and I always wondered how many ended up stuck in the roof)

Why not just ask the bar owner if he can get the vendor to put good cueballs in the tables, assuming they can work with good cueballs.

Everyone has posted excellent advice. All bar-tables have a mechanism that distinguishes the cue-ball from the rest. Most use a weight and/or magnetic system. If your table is using a weight system, there's really nothing you can do. You can get a regulation size cue-ball but it will have to be heavier than the others in order for it to work.

The best bartable is the Diamond Smart Table which can detect the cue-ball using standard Aramth or Centennial balls.

Now, if your bar is leasing the tables (which is often the case), the owner can likely call the vendor and have the tables replaced with magnetic tables or possibly Smart Tables (though unlikely since they're so damn expensive). I know in New York City, this has become growingly popular but this is a city where you can easily walk out of one bar and stumble into another. Competition forces bars to comply. If that is the case where you are, let the bar owner know that having better equipment will yield a more loyal following. Serious poolplayers ALWAYS are aware of where the good equipment is.
