I'm sitting in a Hotel room in Des Moines, IA about 10 mins away.
Went there yesterday, a day early, and banged some balls on their Sogaard a short while.
There were 2 vendors hawking stuff. Chalk Holders, Cheap Cues, .... junk basically.

Wondering if I should shut down this computer and witness this thing?
If its just more of yesterday, I'm not interested.

Wondering if Lil Joe might be there with Jacoby Cues? That would cinch it. Haven't talked since he moved from IA.

I heard Todd Carpenter and Brad Vollmer from the KC area were going to have a booth. I also would expect Jamie from Net2youqs to be there. Diveney and Durbin are close by.

Not familiar with the KC guys. Hmmm
Diviney I'd like to meet and Durbin??? Don't really know him but have played in his barn/shop... Shook his hand.
Really nice place to play!!

Todd has been doing collaboration cues with John Showman, lots of buzz around his cues. Here is an AZB thread on their work.

Good thing I don't play with pockets much.
I'd be broke in no time.

Decided to go down there. Only 10 mins drive.
I'm walking the room and in the corner of my eye I notice a very nice shot. Long nearly straight in with shape. I saw a chair and decided to sit for a minute, then looked at the shooter and its Shane, so of course I sat for longer than planned. He was practicing 1P by himself. Very interesting shots at times. Maybe I need to quit caroms and move back.

When Shane quit I decided to go back to the room. Gotta run tools at John Deer at 5:30am.
Outside was John Schmidt and T Rex, maybe others but didn't spend time to look.

Glad I went. Oh and Diviney was well represented. Love his plain jane house cue look. There were more fancy cues but the Dufferin style butts are to my liking. Luckily all the butts were too heavy for me. I'd have lots of explaining to do when I got home!

Sadly, No Joe V.
