Bill McDaniel Merry Widow Cue???

I bought this cue a few years ago. The seller claimed it was made by Bill McDaniel, but it doesn’t have Bill’s logo on it. I bought it knowing that it might not be authentic, but not really caring as long as it plays good. I have always doubted it was made by Bill, then I recently saw a Merry Widow post on AZB from 2003?? JAlan was selling a McDaniel Merry Widow from around 92. It has a very similar butt and joint. It made me wonder what I have. So, does anyone have any insight into this cue and/or know anyone that might be able to help me validate the make?? Any help would be appreciated.

Could be. Buttcap may have been replaced. Every McD. i've seen has had the 'MC' logo on it. I've seen a few Jackson cues that were very similar to this. They were all clearly marked also.

Definately a McDaniel.

The earlier cues with the meple dash rings many didn't have the logo.

The shaft phenolic collar and insert, the rings and the pantograph butt inlay... definately McDaniel.

I owned this one...and like a dope I sold it. Paid $600 on ebay because nobody knew who made it.

Thanks for the info. I'm super-glad to hear this. I bought a Q6 from Bill, right before he retired. Regrettably, I sold it. So, I found this cue for $425 and bought it. It hits nice. When do you think this cue was made? 80's?

Not sure but early 80s....
