FIRST OF ALL, I AM ASKING... NOT TELLING....

There is rumor bouncing around Tulsa, Oklahoma here that Bill Schick passed away. Can anyone confirm this?

on friday morning I took a telephone-call with Bill. He sounds very alive!

I just spoke with Roy Malott of INDYQ after both of us read this thread.
Roy managed to call and wake Bill up this morning at 8:00 AM so we could find out for sure about his health.

Bill is okay and hopefully will find time to hit some golf balls...

This is the second time in about 10 years that Bill Schick has died. Maybe someone needed to move one of his cues and thought that this rumor would help.

Some just say so and so maker is really sick and is going to retire.

Same thing happened with Mark Twain. Nobody told him he had died either. Guess they figured what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.

How does this crap get started anyway?
 
I play at Schicks quite a bit and was last there on Wednesday, noone said anything about it then. My APA match is tonight, I'm sure if he passed away word will get around. Will let everyone know.
 
Everyone PLEASE accept my apology then. I did not want to hear that he had passed either. This is some stupid rumor that started in the pool room a couple days ago. I have no idea why.

I see no need for you to apologize. Course, the person that started the rumor should have a penance to perform. Let's see, what would be an appropriate one. A flogging? No, that's too easy. Tie them on an ant hill? Nahhh, still too easy.

I got it! They must play all their remaining games this year with a Me^##* Cue!!! That'll teach em ;)

Im not sure about that as i think Bills cues have a pretty good resale value, at least the ones ive owned !!!!!!!!!!:D

As everyone already knows this rumor was pure bullshit and before people start this crap they should do a little research.
In any event I spoke with Bill and he asked me to thank those who sent e-mails and anyone who posted kind words about him, he's fine and doesn't belong to AZ, so he asked if I'd help him out, he's alive and doing well, he just ate a bad Tamale.
