Billiard balls

I just purchased a new Olhausen table. The set of balls that came with the table are "Royal Crown Billiard Balls Pro Quality (RCB)". Can you guys tell me if these balls are any good? Should I upgrade to Aramith balls? I like the cross section of the Aramith balls because the color is all the way through the ball.

I have only been playing a week on the table and I already notice scratches on the balls. I might play a few hours a night. The scratches are very minor but enough to see the white under the ball color.

My cloth is stapled to the table in the pocket areas. However the staples look to be far enough inward in the pocket to require severe deflection and force of the pocket leather to even get near them.

Could it be the wood block in the bottom of the pocket? I notice a little ring around the balls on one side I think this is from the wood.

I can only assume as the pockets and table gets worn and broken in that it will smooth out the pockets.

Thanks
Will

I would definitely get a new set of Billiard Balls. I would choose either Aramith super pros or Brunswick Centennials depending on what kind of style you prefer. Try to stay away from any "novelty" ball sets. (Elephant,Camouflage,Glow in the dark  or NFL) They will not stand the test of time as one of the quality sets will.

Lol I been playing so much I am probably exagerating about the scratches. I think some just from the cue ball. Some came off with a rag. So you do recommend a different set? The place I got these make a big deal because of the lifetime warranty.

Yeah I checked the price of the rcb balls. They are near 50 bucks. I was wondering what I will get for extra coin on the Aramith balls. I feel like a am abusing my $2700 table with $50 balls.

More like abusing the cloth using cheapo balls but also the balance of the balls roll can affect your play.
On the scratch issue check all the pockets to assure all staples or nails are flush and not protruding.

When you move into an Aramith set you get a ball manufactured to higher standards of balance, diameter, roundness, color, glossiness, hardness and weight.

The 3 top Aramith sets are the Premier, Premium and Super Pro and range in price from $109 - $149.
The differences are the type of resin and the standards get a little tighter with each style.
Aramith also makes a tournament set but any of the 3 styles mentioned here will play very well and greatly reduce problems with ball friction.
