Hi all. I was wondering if there is a place online that sell billiard themed coins. I think it would be cool to have about a 2 inch coin to carry or use as pocket marker or card protector. Figured this would be the place to ask. Thanks

I was just looking on e bay at them today as a pocket marker... do a search on there for "billiard token".

Casino chips are brighter and more colorful, but I may get one for the sake of it.

The prices on these tokens are usually from 2 -10$.

Check out the brass tokens used for the coin-ops tables at the BCA Nationals? I think they were phased out last year or the year before. So, I wouldn't be surprised if people had a few lying around.

We used to put red fingernail polish on quarters then get them back when they emptied the box.

The hobo nickel was my first thought too, but a little small. I'd like to be able to roll it on my fingers. One of those tokens would be cool though. Good idea.

Search for challenge coins. Common in military circles. But they're about the size you're looking for.

I have a few challenge coins from various things. It's bad juju to get a challenge coin that you didn't earn. Originally it was an inside military thing, but it branched out in the recent years.

I bought an APA metal coin from a member here. Similar to this one:

I used it for marking my pocket when I played APA 8-ball. Luckily, I don't need it for 9-ball.

I used to use a poker chip, before I got the APA coin.

Brass Billiard tokens can be found on EBay.
Between the 1920s and 1940s they were a way to get around the gambling laws and also a way for room owners to control loose cash.
Imprinted with the names of old halls, they can be great memorabilia.
They are the size of quarters.

I agree on the bad omen in not earning a challenge coin so it's a no go there, but I did find a website that will custom engrave a sterling silver coin for 70 bucks and no minimum amount of coins and no setup fee.. Perfect. Thanks for the input folks. If you'd like to know the website just message me.

Man, you weren't kidding. The other night I used a challenge coin I got on eBay for a pocket marker, and I ran down to the eight and scratched, three times in a row, and shut myself out. Other guy shot exactly twice that match, breaking dry in the second and third racks.

It was ugly.
