I'll be taking a trip to Europe in a few months, never been there before...

Anyway I would like to see interesting billiard halls (If that is what they call them?), and shops where they sell billiard equipment. I probably will not have time to play, just want see various pool halls.

I'll be going to the following cities...

London, Paris, Basle, Lucerne, Lugano, Venice, Florence, and Rome (England, France, Switzerland, and Italy).

Any suggestions?

Good books/videos to buy you can't get in the states?

In London:

Rileys London Victoria
6 Semley Place
Victoria
Greater London, SW1W 9QJ, England
Tel.: 0207 824 8261

Has snooker and pool, and well-known English player Steve Knight plays there. It's practically on the doorstep of Victoria Bus Station. Several good players, and a lot of people well worth meeting.

And you are not going to the Netherlands???

Niels Feijen
Alex Lely
Nick van den Berg

Some very nice pool places

European Championships from 20 till 30 April 2005!!!
All the great European players will be there!!!

Many rooms in Rome, my favorite is the 'Cotton Club', shame you don't want to play. As far as shops go I think you'll find the majority of europeans do their pool shopping online (i.e. US) as prices are lower. One exception would be Parris cues in south east London possibly the finest cuesmith around.
