Does anyone know anything about the billiards scene in England. We are planning a 3 week plus trip and am hoping to find some good Pool Halls/Pubs and even places to watch some good events. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve Luskey

Where are you coming to steve.....i'm sure i could suggest some people for you to play depending on your speed?

What do you play? 9, 8, 1pocket?

Let me know when and where you are coming and if i can't think of anyone else then i'll give you a set or 2 of any of those 3.

Try "the home of champions"!!

Hello,
Your best chance for seeing some world-class pool (and sometimes snooker) will be at the club that everyone here in the UK calls "the home of champions". Riley's Victoria (right next to Victoria train and coach stations in London). If you're lucky you could get to see Steve Knight, Imran Majid, Tony Drago, Raj Hundal, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Jimmy White and Rico Diks plus a whole host of great semi-pro players. The club also has the nicest management you'll ever meet although you will probably have to join up as a member even if you don't play. It's not cheap (nothing in London ever is) but it's an amazing place. Also there's a good club in Cambridge called Mickey Flynns which is well worth a visit if you're in that area. I second the Pro9.co.uk recommendation. You'll get all the info you need there.

Hope this helps,
Chris (Chrstc).

Enjoy your trip!

Hello,
I hope you have a great trip, then. One more thing that might be important is that all the pool clubs, pubs, restaurants etc here will be smoke free from the 1st of July onwards. Just thought you might be interested to know that as I know there isn't any sort of a nationwide smoking ban in the US yet. Of course if you're here earlier than that then that's totally useless information!

I hope you have a great time,

Chris (Chrstc).
