Billy Thorpe , Roberto Gomez , one pocket now

Gomez when he first came on the international scene, I believe if memory serves, was called " superman ".

He never lived up to the hype on the 10 and 9 ball tournament circuit but he has always been a super solid player.

I watched some of the match last night and the camera did not seem to be in good focus most of the time.

In the games I watched Thorpe would blood test Gomez and Gomez was going for and making hard shots.

He led Daryl Peach 15-12 (in race to 17) in 2007 World 9 ball final but could not close and Peach won the title https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x93HB9Yje-E
People felt that he choked. I thought he never recovered from that so was surprised to see him emerge last few years. :)
