Birds eye or Curly maple?

Just for looks. I'm a sucker for BEM. Curly maple is here no problem with local cue makers, but BEM is a premium. Maybe it's supply and demand, and I'm lusting over forbidden fruit?

For me, its whatever kind has the best figure. There is a ton of birds eye and curly out there that is just average. The really primo stuff, super tight curly and birds eye with a million eyes, is not so common and what I am looking for.

Birdeye with a lot of ey's in is amazing to see in a cue.

If you ever get tired of BEM or Curly Maple, there is always Quilted Maple and Maple Burl.

BEM loaded with bird's eyes can be beautiful, but you will pay for an extremely figured piece.

Now that you mention quilted maple, my new cue looks look a mild combination of curly quilted and BEM. Mostly Birds Eye. Have you seen anything like that?

Yes, the handle of my cue is BEM and Curly Maple.
