Congrats on your great purchase! Considering you live in the Montreal area, it would seem to make more sense to keep it as a snooker table, for potential future resale value. Considering the age of the table, and that likely it may not have been used much for years, even if you're keeping it a snooker table, there's probably a good chance you'll want to have the snooker cushion rubbers replaced.

Don't skimp - talk with knowledgeable snooker table mechanics and get the best quality snooker cushion rubbers, and the best, most experienced snooker table mechanic you can find to do the work on it. A qualified mechanic will be able to test the cushions and immediately know if they need replacing, stripped off and reglued back on, or if they are good to go. Good luck!
