Bizarre Refereeing situations in Mosconi Cup

Maybe you did not hear this exchange/ discussion

Ken said something like he is trying to place it but I thought he was trying to measure it to see if it would fit

Marcus Chamat: "He's placing it"

Ken: "ok, ok"

Ken to Karl: "Time out. I am going to let you go but I am just going to explain to other captain"

So it looks Ken decided to reverse his decision after hearing from Chamat?
I like Ken but if it was Michaela Tabb, she would have discussed with other ref, Nigel Rees and played back video if necessary and then annnounced that she made a mistake and am reversing her decision
:D

I am not sure such drama will make for a good TV series that I can shop around to the small cable stations though :D

Box Office Boyes was being a douche primadonna and rubbing it into poor Ken :)

That's AFTER Ken told him that he's trying to place the cue ball, but he thought he was measuring. Why did you leave out that first part that makes it 100% clear he's explaining that he made a mistake, and 100% clear that he's not discussing or asking for guidance?

As soon as Karl said he was placing it, Ken said that he's going to let him shoot but he just needs to inform the captains what happened. The whole thing was decided in about 5 seconds right at the beginning, and Ken was just acting very professional and making sure that everyone knew it was his error and that the game would continue.

If I shoot a wingshot and pocket my opponent's ball during the lag, do I win the lag?

Wat? I hide first part cos wanted to show Ken's conversation with team captains

And you are assuming that when Ken said "ok ok" (around 10:57), he had decided to reverse his "foul" decision . (When Ken said "ok ok" he could have meant that he heard Karl Boyes explanation)
Your statement "As soon as Karl said he was placing it, Ken said that he's going to let him shoot but he just needs to inform the captains what happened." is incorrect
After Karl said he placing the ball, Ken said "ok ok" (around 10:57) and time out. Then he went to talk to Marcus Chamat

https://youtu.be/_7Bi7-2T0vI?t=665
Marcus Chamat: "He's placing it"
Ken: "ok, ok"
Ken to Karl: "Time out. I am going to let you go but I am just going to explain to other captain"

So Ken actually only announced his decision to reverse foul decision (i.e. let Karl go) after talking to Marcus Chamat, not before
Before talking to Chamat, there is no clear indication that Ken had made his decision
Ken said only "ok ok" after hearing from Karl :)

"He was trying to place the cue ball, and I thought he was measuring". That's how he opened the conversation with the captain. For some reason, you left that part out when you quoted the conversation, even though that's the part that makes it pretty clear he made a mistake and was simply informing everyone. It's not like everyone can't just listen for themselves. Maybe I should assume good intentions and assume that you just didn't hear how the conversation started?
