BK3 Ferrule ?

I need to replace a Ferrule on a BK3 (not on warranty) IT looks similar to a 314-2 which I have done and have ferrules for, is it the same? Will the tenon have a small step like the 314-2

The material is different. The ferrule of a BK3 has a weave to it and is much harder than that of 314'2. I'm not sure what the material used is but it is something along the lines of Aegis-2 or LBM.

I can't say anything about the construction though as I've never had to replace the ferrule itself on one. I'm sure others will chime in with better knowledge of what it is like under the surface :smile:
 
Make sure you have a carbon fiber pad at least .080" thick to install, do not use a regular fiber pad. If you don't, when breaking, you will destroy the new ferrule, and possibly the tenon too.
