Black Bank Pool Players

From what I've seen and heard, they play alot more one-pocket and bank pool than anything else. For some reason they prefer those games over anything else. Thats probably why IMO.
Like basketball and football, big rims, and gotty cars.......ITS FLASHY that is the only answer.

Its the Stroke, for sure, one of the greatest teachers Ive had has been a Black guy who told me to develop my own style, he said you cant play like any one person, let that stroke flow. my user ID SPINDOKTOR reflects my stroke. if you watched me play youd get dizzy. I remember one instructor said why do you play so fancy? thats not how a pool player plays pool.... I listened to this guy and lost my stroke, well Im getting it back, and Im playing better than ever... and yes I can bank.. Why are Black players better at bank? the have that fluid stroke. look at Efren, can he bank? I think there is a trend, your just not seeing it..

I think there actually is something to this and its the same reason that bank pool is so big in kentucky along with one pocket.
Where I grew up at and a lot of other people in pooer areas grew up at pool was "by the game" instead of by the hour. You had a racker that handled each rack and charged you for each game.
Guess what games take the longest to play? One pocket and bank pool.
My guess is maybe they were broke and preferred games like this and as a result created a niche. They fell into that niche and exploited it for everything it was worth.
A lot of people from other areas can't figure out why that bank/onehole are so big in kentucky. well now you know.

Fancy= Flashy. Danny Harriman does not have a fluid stroke neither does stevie moore they have good ones. Pool played in a runout fashion isnt really flashy per se. Part of being flashy is having a flashy stroke, in other words after you make a shot somebody can go...OHHHHHHH like and 1 mix tape tour or something. It appeals to people of African descent who play pool, to carry the flashiness of the sprots that most Black people play into pool. Its obvious, and kind of cool.

Yes but those other nationalities, are world class at other games as well. So the thread wasn't orginally started by why are other races just as good as African Americans at banking. But rather, why are black people typically good at banking (atleast known players within the pool community) and not world class (typically) at the other games. Because culturally they like the flash of it. And maybe some of that other stuff too, but mainly flash.

it could be that the "hustling aspect" is part of it, it is alot easier to hide your true speed at these games for a long while and make money, that aspect would make it a prime game to play for anyone wanting to lock it up and make cash.... its a good business decision from that point of view..

Do you find that more black players also tend to practice each of these games heavily? The room closest to my house during the day is jam packed with black players playing one pocket and full rack banks. Quite sporty I might add.
