Hello,

I have a Black Boar AS8 cue with two shafts - one with an ivory ferrule the other made with fibre material. I thought all Black Boars came ith ivory ferrules - is the common?

Thanks

if you bought the cue new, it would have had a "compression" fit ..

if the shafts don't, chances are they were swapped for some other shafts and then sold ... this is pretty common with black boars - few sell the original shafts ...

i have 2 that came with boars that may or may not be original - no way to really know - i don't use them since i have tony's ferrule-less shafts - but they play well enough..

here is the link i had put up: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=105003

Hello Kam,

How are things?

One of the shafts (with the ivory ferrule) has a compression fit. The other dosen't, so it may have been replaced.

Do yours have ivory ferrules? Also what is the joint and ferrule type on the kenny murrell shaft ?

On another point is there any reccommended maintainence procedures for the joints? (eg, lubrication etc)

Thanks

PS, I will get out to HK sometime and give you a few games again.

Cheers

Leon
