Black burl is probably new to alot of you, but here is some BLACK Maple Burl. I was busy washing it in the kitchen sink, cuz it had some sawdust on it :p You guys wash all your ebony and burl under water right ?? Gabon does so well when you dunk it in water..........hahaha

This is dyed and stabilized... :grin-square:

More pics to follow because when you add clear finish it turns a deep dark black. The burl eyes tend to resist the dye. The eyes are still there, but they are very subtle.... It's definately not for everyone.

Lengths are marked, and pricing will be the same as the redwood. Stay tuned for more pics....

Long Pieces 16 -17 inches = $150
Medium length piece 12.5 = $100
Short Pieces 4 inches and 5 inches = $35

Some people have been asking about the discount. I will still honor that if we have done business before - you gotta remind me tho...screen name, etc

that would look killer with some redheart or blood wood. Lava cue...

The black and red combo is one of my favorites... I kept a piece of that black maple burl for myself, and am thinking about putting it together with some of this black/red burl in segments. (All the stuff in this pic is dyed box elder) Haven't decided how it will go together for sure yet... think it depends on if the oval goes away up turning...

Sorry for the tangent.... carry on

Would you happen to have any photos of this wood used as a handle in a wrapless cue?

Thanks,

Randy

Randy I don't have any pics of it finished out.... The pics with the clear coat are about as close as we can get right now...Frankly, I have never seen a cue that's been built with dyed / stabilized black maple burl. Like I said it's not for everyone, and lots of people HATE dyed wood. I have one in the works, but it will be awhile before pics can be posted. Larry
