...Tan and Brown Lizard arriving soon.

Hey West,

I have a question. Not long ago I ordered and received an exotic wrap from Atlas. It was genuine (ringtailed lizard belly IIRC) and I paid $65 I think. When I came to install it, my local cuemaker pointed out that the thickness varied all over the wrap, as a natural skin would. We discussed the difficulties of the proper installation, especially what the problems would be when the wrap needed to be changed the next time. The handle would have needed to be turned to a different spec at each end to make the wrap lay flat, so any future wrap installations would have been problematic. Not impossible, but not easy to get perfect.

In contrast, the skins that I've gotten from Petree at Oklahoma Billiards have been VERY consistent, averaging .00019-.00021, and they lay flat at all positions. He has been out of black lizard lately so these look very interesting. Could you comment on the thickness of yours and also the material please.

Thanks...Tom

I received two of the black wraps from wild west. I sent my cue along with one of the wraps to Ryan (rat cues) to have it installed. I haven't heard anything from him regarding the wrap, but just my eyeballing the wraps they look very uniform in thickness throughout the wrap.

Is there any way we can see pic of the wrap???

...The 'Genuine' skins are very inconsistant...because they are the real deal. Where as 'Embossed' skins, they are just imprinting the texture to a 1-2 oz piece of leather. Making it very consistant through and through. I stand by by wraps no matter what. I will offer a replacement for any wrap that your local cuemaker believes to be impossible to install due to it being un-even or inconsistant.
