Purchased some double black phenolic rod a few months back from a very popular supplier and am having a problem with it.
I sand down to get rid of the pin holes but new ones appear.
I fill them in with sanding sealer but every time I sand new ones will appear and fill with a white dust that is all but impossible for me to get out.
Thinking I bought some unsuitable material.
In the joint photo is a smaller black ring of different type of double black phenolic that does not have this problem.
The photos show where I sanded down the finish, tried to get as much out of the pinholes as I could and lightly sprayed to see if they would go away.
Obviously, I failed ... again.
Can anyone suggest a solution to get a jet black appearance other than cutting them off?
You can bet the remaining stock of this stuff will be used for something other than pool cue rings and butt caps.
