The order started with...simple plain, 19 oz, full splice, ebony with birdseye nose, flame veneers, slim butt, forward weighted, black joint rings, Hoppe ring, no bumper, 12.8 shafts with hard tips. I sent a demo to make sure the forward weighted, 21" balance, cue would work. The question of "what woods I like to use for playability" , answer is dense stiff woods for the nose because it stiffens the cue. My opinion is a cue feels stable when the joint area is stiffer. So I like to use woods like katolox, ebony, bloodwood, and snakewood for the nose or I like to core my maple noses with a dense stiff wood. For some reason he wanted snakewood for the nose. Luckily I had some snakewood nose blanks setting around for a few years drying. So be it, done, I just had to change the veneer sequence for the flame. This is the result. The snakewood is brittle and there's a lot of waste and you can see in the photos. He also upgraded to a pair of matched shafts with more growth rings. The growth rings are matched, meaning the shaft wood is from the same block and the growth rings are the same. Whether this is good or bad is just an opinion.
