BLACKCREEK Opinions?????

I’m new to the forum…but use to read all the time. There seems to be a lot of cue knowledge out there. I have a chance to purchase from a friend of a friend a Blackcreek “players” cue (no points 2 shafts). I don’t want to know how great the guy is or how he is an up and coming cue maker. Wondering about the cues hit. I’ve owned over the years 3 Rick Howard’s, 2 Runde Schon’s, 2 Gulyassy’s, and 1 Josey. I probably like the Howard’s hit the best. Anyone out there can describe the hit of a Blackcreek. Or even better describe it to the cues listed above. Thanks everyone out there.

Select the search option in the blue bar above. Type in what you want to search for, click search and check out what you get. You will, btw, get lots for blackcreek. Those cues have plenty of fans on this site...

Sack,

I have owned a couple of BlackCreeks, Rick Howards, and Gulyassys. The BlackCreeks play very similar to Rick Howards, and Gulyassys as far as that goes. They all have a good, stiff hit (Mike Gulyassys play a little too stif for me). I think the joints run around .850 or .860.

All I can say bad about BlackCreeks is that on the first one I had (and it was one of his earlier cues), the shaft didn't feel exactly round. You could feel a small ridge where one side of the shaft seemed higher than the rest. I never said anything to Cue Addicts or Travis, and I know that they would have made it right if I did. And it wasn't that bad. The second BlackCreek I bought hit very similar to the first, and there was nothing wrong with the cue at all.

All in all, I'd say that if you like the hit of a Rick Howard, BlackCreeks hit at least as good. A little better in my opinion.

Good Luck.

Mike

I've owned/played with some of the sticks that've been recommended on this forum and STRONGLY disagree with some of the posted opinions about them.

Not saying anything specifically about blackcreek, but go try the stick out and make your own decision.

Will this friend of a friend let you hit with it before buying?
If so, that would be my advice. If not, I'd have to ask why?
