I have only had one of each but IMHO-I think the Blackcreek hits stiffer than the Scruggs, vibrations are faster and shorter on the Blackcreek. I have the measurements somewhere but I don't remember either feeling fat or thin in the butt.
thanks-jeff
I own both so here's my view on it, bear in mind my Scruggs has a flat faced ivory joint.
1) The Blackcreek hits stiffer. From what i've heard Travis has changed his shaft taper since he built my cue so that might not be the case now.
2) For me no real difference.
3) Again very little in it. I'd take some measurements but my calipers are at work.
As far as workmanship goes both are top draw, very sharp and even points. My main playing cue is my TS. The hit of the TS has something extra about it, its hard to describe as the hit is like no other cue I've played with, a lot more feel, you can really tell how much english your getting on the cue ball.
Either way you can't go wrong with either makers. Both make fantastic playing cues and both are great guys.
