Has anyone heard anything about Blackjack? I haven't heard from him in quite a while and I know that he was having some health problems. If you're reading this Blackjack, I hope all is well and good luck! I really miss reading your posts. You always gave a lot of good information and you did it in a very positive way. :)
 
i agree. i used to play in a very big 8-ball tournament in new york called the chances 8-ball calcutta classic. all the best bar players in all of new york, would enter. although i would win my share, for a while there, i found myself, getting too excited, about what a great tournament it was, and thus i played like crap. i wrote a private e-mail to blackjack. he responded with some amazing advice. he said, take one ball at a time. it sounds like your over excited, and your getting ahead of yourself. count the steps you take around the table. stay in the moment. well, in january of 2002, they had the biggest most skilled 8-ball field ever assembeled in new york. 21 players double elimination $2,200 purse. i won. you better believe i thanked him! to this day, it is still the biggest tournament i ever won, n terms of the best players, and highest payout. hope blackjack is well.

David had been deathly ill but was having somewhat of a come back the last time I talked to him. I hope that he did not have a relapse and have been worried about him for months because I have not heard from him.

At one time I had ordered some of his books but he was too sick to put them together to send to me. So, I never got them.

I saw yesterday where he posted on the CCB board in response to Grady's assesment of the UPA contract fiasco.

He could probably be reached there.

My mistake....It was this board where Grady was expressing his opinion on the UPA and BlackJack responded.

Look at the dates of the post, I believe those posts from Blackjack were made 1 year ago (I just resurrected the thread because I lost interest in naked ball rackers, and wanted some fresh discussion of a very interesting issue).

I remembered this thread too so I knew it was old. I thought I'd scan it anyway and that's what prompted me to start this thread because I saw Blackjack's post. He was definitely one of the good guys on this board! I hope he's gotten over whatever illness he had so he can post again.
