Beautiful stuff! Thank you. Do you know where the match was played? It looks like maybe Hernando's room in Miami.

That's a good guess, Mark! Actually, it's from the finals of a 2003 tournament held at Corner Pocket Billiards in Ft. Lauderdale (just a bit up I-95 from Hernando's).

Sadly, I heard that it recently closed down, which prompted the memory of the match and the post of the videos.

They had 4 Verhoeven tables that always played beautifully whenever I was there for various events. I remember making this shot one year during a tournament there on the very same table as those videos:

I lost the match, but making that shot in competition helped soften the blow. Notice the nice curve off of the 3rd rail to make it long enough, combined with plenty of spin and speed still on the ball after the reverse english contact. I only wish I could play in those conditions year-round like the traveling European pros.

Billiardgrue,

Thanks for your reply. I actually thought of Billy Maloney's room first, but I didn't think the table looked like a Verhoeven. When I was there last November Billy was talking about closing, but I hadn't heard that it had really happened.

I love the shot you showed. Visualizing the shot is the hardest part, but you also better have very clean balls and very fast cloth.
