I wouldn't say it's expensive but finding any leather that is at a consistent thickness (.019-.023 range preferred) for pool cue wraps is no easy task. Its even difficult for the suppliers who use highly professional splitters/skivvers. The Tiger "pigskin" wrap in black or brown is one of my personal favorites. It's full grain and has a wonderful feel on the hand as it is nearly smooth. It is also one of the easiest wraps to install because it has medium-firm temper. YMMV.

What most people refer to as Boar skin has more pronounced holes in it than regular pigskin. It is harder to find than normal pigskin, but usually does not cost much more when you do luck up on it. I have a little bit of it in black and natural with no finish at $6 per blank, but do not know when I will see it again once I use up what little I have left.cueball1950 said:Thanks Jazz for the reply. i was only wondering because another gent and myself were talking about leather wraps and he stated that the boars skin is the hardest to get, thus more expensive. So it just peaked my curiousity is all........................................mike
