Jon,

If Bob would make a jump / break version of his sneaky, I'd buy one in a heartbeat. Just a thought.

They are the same cue! If you don't believe me just read it on Tim Scruggs Custom Cues web page see sneaky petes. And actually I like the 3/8 10 pin sneakie petes Bob is making now better than the old TS piloted sneakies if for only the fact they are new!

JUST IN

Bob Frey Cocobola Sneaky Pete with Cocobola Butt, White Rambo Ring, and 1" Cocobola Joint. $380.00 plus shipping. JP

i remember that there was a story about frey sneaky pete on TS's site but i couldn't find it anymore. i've been wondering why...

Ok, just ordered a Frey Sneaky Jump Break from Jon. Quoted 4 week delivery.

Specs are:

Cocobola ( I like a heavier cue), Rambo ring, silver joint rings around cocobola joint, 12.75 shaft, linen wrapped, buffalo tip. Both joints 3/8th. I would have preferred a quick release at the jump joint, but Bob does not believe in these.

I'll post pics and a review when it arrives.

In my experience, the 5/16 TS SPs are far stiffer, and tend to "ping", while the 3/8 BF SPs have a more subtle hit that I like better. I love my Frey and would recommend his cues to anyone.

My Frey Sneaky Break/Jump arrived today.

First, the workmanship is excellent. Very pleased in that regard.

It di dtake a few weeks longer than the quoted four to arrive, but another AZ'er PM'd me to tell me to expect that early on.

The forearm is, how should I say, a little younger looking would than would have been nice. Not much character to the maple. But not a problem. But, I ordered Cocoboal and this is much lighter than I expected. I am not saying it is not Cocobola, but looks more like the Bacote pictures on Jon's site. Is there an easy well to tell the difference? I shall post a pic a bit later.

The shaft felt a little unsealed for lack of a better term. I burnished it and it feels better. Have not shot with it yet, but I like the taper. A bit different than I am used to, but nice.

THe wrap is excellent. The jump joint grain lines up almost perfectly. I like the balance point.

You can read the description a few posts bove. Not sure what kind of tip on this, but Jon mentioned hard buffalo for a jump/break, so I assume it is, but no idea what brand.

I'll go shoot a pic or two and be right back.
