Inaugural 2 Shot Shoot Out 6 Ball/One Pocket
At Bogie’s on January 1st and 2nd had great turn out for our Inaugural 6 Ball with a total Purse of $2110. The Tournament was played on our 8 New Diamond Bar Tables. The One Pocket Tournament was played on 4 of our 5 Brunswick Gold Crowns, and best of all both tournaments went great.

In the 6 ball event there was total of 31 players. The players played a modified BCA 9 Ball Rule, 2 Shot Shoot Out race to 9 on the winners side, and a race to 7 on the winners side the first day, The second day we changed the race and did a race to 11 winners side and race to 9 losers side. There were several great players as, Kim White-Newsome (WPBA Touring Professional), Jason (J-Bird) Brown, Charlie (Hillbilly) Bryant, Sylver Ochoa, Mark Garza, Lanny Herring, James Davis Jr. and young 14 year old upcoming player Joey Torres just to name a few. After the player meeting 6 ball play started around 2pm. There were quite a few major upsets for the day, and the first 9-2 loss was when the a buzz saw was put to work on Charlie (Hillbilly) Bryant by Jason Brown (J-Bird). Several other noted players including Kim, James Davis Jr. were out on the first day.

In the One-Pocket event we had 12 players and added $500 for a total purse of $800. We had a Race to 3 on the winners side and a race to 2 on the losers side the first day. The second day we brought back the final 4 players and upped the ante by 1 and the players played a race to 4 on the winners and 3 on the losers. The first days play went well, but there were just a few upsets again. Charlie (Hillbilly) Brant yet met another buzz saw in his loss to Bogie’s owner Bobby Rone, and then again by former pool player who decided to get educated and now has a law degree John Newsome. Several other noted players that were out on day one was James Davis Jr. and Mace Garza.
On behalf of Bogie’s owners Bobby, Chris Rone and staff we want to again thank everyone who played in our event, and ask everyone to keep watching for more upcoming tournaments.
