$2,500 per player x 36=90,000
Leaves 30k they are actually playing for in the playoffs, so they are not playing for a ton, perhaps 10/12k more for first split 3 ways.
I'm sure if the 90 is paid, the 30k they are playing for will be paid.

They really don't have to give that info to the public as to who makes what. It's truly not the publics business, and I'm definitely not on bonus balls side.
I mean if the guy came in hounding you, what do you make at your work, what does your wife make, your brother, your mother, etc. Is that his business?

Yes, I'm aware of what you posted. But you are not part of Bonus Ball, so I wanted to hear something more precise directly from them.

And, in this instance, I disagree with your comment that it is essentially none of our (spectators/fans) business. mbprod is promoting it as a $120,000 tournament with "big bucks at stake" relative to who finishes where in the tournament. Your information seems to indicate that big bucks may not really be at stake, as not much is left after the "guarantee" to all players. As it is being promoted, it is different from just an employment situation where compensation is confidential information. Normally, pool (as well as many other sports) make their tournament prize money distribution public information. The difference in prize money from one position to the next factors into the reasons fans tune in or show up and their interest level in the matches.

my mistake - Larry Chiborak answered ALL questions last Thursday & VLR (the Voice of Bonus Ball) & MBPROD (Larry's right-hand man) don't need to:

1) "finals" are confirmed for FEB 5-15 & "all" are on-board to show.
2) purse for winning team is as originally promised 1 year ago @ $100K+/+ to winning team, split 3 ways; plus salary to balance attending players.
3) all money is in Trust Acct w/ Release sig by winning team members.
4) PPVs now online, from NOV & next week's sessions, are GRACED, for any/all subscribers who paid last year; otherwise CREDITS are in-process YESTERDAY.
5) Larry apologized profusely, for any/all inconveniences & out-of-pocket expenses, incurred by players, employees, and customers, and agreed to full recompense.

Yeah, you had me wondering there for a minute.

But I did listen to the Howerton/Chiborak portion of the ABR show. Mike asked directly about the playoff money. All Larry would say is that the prize fund is $120,000, the winning team will get $30,000, and all teams will get some money.
