Joe, Since Your only boring woods and composites, why not just make one and save yourself the money? That would be My choice before spending 100 bucks or more, altough you may find one cheaper somewhere. I just use a small keyway cutter I got in a batch of tooling one time for a mini boring bar, and It works for Me. It will do the entire bore for the shoulder part of the unilocs, but does'nt quite reach far enough for the small bit of thread at the very bottom. That part I drill and tap after boring for the shoulder. The nice thing about me using that cutter, Is there are 4 cutting edges, so If one was to dull, I just rotate to a sharp one. They have'nt dulled yet, but I like having the option just in case one dulls and I don't have time to sharpen in the middle of a job.:) I imagine It would'nt be too hard to grind something to use as a boring bar though. Maybe start with a old drill bit for a blank or something. I think there was a thread a short time back about this, so may want to check that out for ideas. Anyway just a suggestion, nothing wrong with spending the money for a good one, just another option if you like saving the cash for something else Like me:D
