Boston Area Help

I have no inside scoop. What I can tell you is what happened to me in more detail for the last three weeks. Three weeks ago I was practicing at Ren. Billiards in Quincy when I was kicked off my table, so they could repair damage to the ceiling near my table--this work could have been done anytime before or after I played, but they chose instead to annoy one of their very few customers. Two weeks ago I showed up on Saturday to play pool at 12:30 and they were not open despite communicating to the public that they open at noon. I waited until sometime after 1pm until I was able to play. This last weekend the same situation occurred except no one had opened the place by 2:00 pm, and I had wasted 4 hours of my day between trains and waiting. I cannot continue to patronize a place that acts in such an unprofessional and disrespectful manner.

Dave

Sorry to hear all that next time I see the owner I will say something to him, thats just not right.

I am probably going to be there tuesday night and see who I can talk to.

On a lighter note, there seem to be alot of AZers in/around Boston, maybe we can get together at one of the larger tournies around the area,. I know there is a large one coming up at Snookers in RI.

That's not a bad idea.

I was thinking we could maybe have a tournament of our own. Meet up at some nice room in the Boston area and play a round robin format or something. Gambling or otherwise (maybe just have a small entry fee).

What does everyone think of this? There is a post in this thread about free table time somewhere (CC USA maybe) on Saturdays.

Feedback???

Depending on when and where I'd be interested in an entry fee type get together. I don't gamble, but wouldn't mind making a small contribution to somebody else's prize money. ;-)

That sounds about right Steve.
Mickey's is only about 5-10 minutes from my house and used to be the homeroom of Mike Rinella.
The only catch there is that it is 18 and over which means no alcohol. Otherwise it's a nice place to play.

Koop

P.S. To the original poster: If you're ever planning on heading to Mickey's and would like a practice partner, just give me a couple of days heads up. I could meet you there and then drive you back to the T.

Mickeys is a room i frequent and is close to my home but doesnt open till 6:00 pm daily and i beleive 3:00pm on weekends....

Thanks for the info.
Where are you located because it seems we are both only a few minutes away.

I'd also be up for a get together.

I'm in for sure.

I'm wondering if this is deserving of its own thread, mainly so that other NE'ers see it. Your call Dave.

I know Canton well. I live in Weymouth but have family in Milton and went to Blue Hills in Canton for high school.

Do you play APA at all? I'm on hiatus but we may know each other.

Kollegedave,

For Country Club USA in Chelmsford you get to North station and take the train to Lowell (Lowell Line) $5.25, walk over to bus station and take Lowell LRTA route 16 to Chelmsford $1.50 get off at Drumhill (1 block) or ask the driver to drop you on Parkhurst (part of return route). CCUSA is at 67 Parkhurst. Food reasonably priced at CCUSA.
