A good way to determine if he is legit is to see if the seller will allow for an escrow service to validate the cue..
Much like the service at Proficient and the buyer would cover the service cost.
Actually protects both buyer and seller!
I did this with a collector cue and got a gem and Peace of Mind!

Again, I am not in the market for a cue, I am happy with my current cue. I simply post these threads to inform of an interesting listing or to alert to an obvious fraudulent listing.
Consider it my daily random act of kindness. :-)

I know!
You tend to post and about the time I see the questionable listing.
I have added to your threads (most recently the Searing).
But you can still ask the question to see what type of response you get!
In this case, I sent the exact question.
Will post the response in this thread!

Thanks for looking out for all of us...

I apologize, and appreciate your response. I am very scattered today, got too many things going on all at once. Thanks again!

If anyone wants to ask the seller If I can see it for them, I will. Im no cue expert, but I would bring a camera and verify he is in possession of the cue pictured. He or she is about 20 mins. from me.

With all the threads, it may be difficult to recognize everyone. I too watch the e-bay sales and have most recently noticed a huge trend of stolen listings for collectable cues. But in the meantime, no apology necessary but accepted.

Still no response about using an Escrow Service from the seller. I will let you know if anything comes up.

Later!

Another way of telling if the auction is legit is to see the list of bidders. I kind of know who the collectors are and if they are on the bid list, then I feel a little more comfortable....
