Could someone explain how this works. How do they decide who has the bounty on their head?? How do they decide how much each person gets as a bonus if they beat the person with the bounty?

In the room i play in if you knock out the previous weeks winner at the weekly tourney you win the bounty.

Yeah, we're trying to build it back up after the covid death. Break and run, bounties, last lady, doubles tourneys, chip tourneys, scotch triples.

We've got a great new TD and an awesome room owner thatll do anything to get people in there.

I think bounties is a wonderful idea....it eases the pain of playing dominant players.
....I’ve played in poker tournaments with a similar idea.

Where does the money for the bounty come from? Is it added as a promotion or are players invested?

I guess it can vary. I first heard of the bounty bonus during the Cajun open tournament last week. It said there was 1k of bounty added, so I guess it came from the promoter. When Manny Chau won against John Morra, they said Manny would get 200 of the bounty cash. I guess the way each TD works it varies.

I've played in a couple of tournaments that had bounties. The person with the marker on their heads was randomly drawn, so it could be anyone. The reward was simply free entry into the next tournament of the winner's choice. If the bounty won the tournament, they got the prize.

That is a cool idea!
