yeah.. i would say the japan buyer is a scam... usually they tell you they want to pay with a valid company check from a us company and usually its for more then you want because the check was already made out for another reason...

anyways.. i got a scam second chance offer today myself...
apparently i can buy a cue EXACTLY like yours for $1100 USD so there is no way i am going to try and win yours when i could but it for less then half the price..lol.. i wonder how many people they actually get with these rediculous emails..lol..

here is a copy of it..

Hello Sir / Madam ,
I saw that you are interested in purchasing Brand New Ginacue Custom Pool Cue and Case. NR . I want you to know that i have the same Brand New Ginacue Custom Pool Cue and Case. NR at USD 1100 . If you are really interested please let me know . Thanks in advance

I received the same exact email this morning. Based on my experience selling high-end baseball cards several years ago, I can almost guarantee this is coming from Asia Pacific or Eastern Europe - somewhere where internet fraud is considered a vital part of the economy.

what i would like to know.. how do they get my email email adress.. it isnt displayed to anybody but the seller.. and it did NOT come throught the message system?

anybody able to figure that out?

chris

I'm not sure about that, but it is scary that they can get it.

Looks like the auction is doing well as we move into the last hour and a half.

Uh oh.......

Broke 2100 bucks....but a zero feedback buyer. Same guy as the one who was "buying for a Japanese customer"....or somebody new?

The auction closed at a very good price.
Hopefully the transaction is completed by both parties and the cue has a new home.

Myron

This is a different guy that I heard from before the auction. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I hear from him. I'll give him 5 days and then leave negative feedback and notify eBay.

The next time I think I'm going to use some other type of auction with either a minimum feedback requirement or one where they have to notify me before hand.

just a dumb question......why do ernie's veneers seem sharp like spliced points, but yet the tips of the points are rounded like CNC points?

They are CNC points.

Ernie basically does the outer point in CNC, and has the veneers mitered (spliced). The points are not super sharp, but they are dead even. The veneers look great, too.

Of course how they look is second to how they play... and his cues play very nice!
