I don’t think the intention of posting something for sale includes any of us critiquing the asking price.
It’s been my experience that eventually, & also gradually, the asking price comes down with waiting.

Sooner or later, the item either becomes selling price flexible or the thread turns into a dying dinosaur.
It just gets old, inconsequential and ignored; the seller either heavily discounts it or let’s the thread die.

The retail for this shaft is $550 with a 20 week lead time. The reason for the price increase is there is NO wait time. It is available now. I paid $550 for this shaft 2 weeks ago. It was ordered and the original buyer didn't pay so I was able to buy it.
 
Perhaps some people do not understand that the micarta option and the tip option plus the joint protector option will add another $100 to the retail price- so, yes this is a $550 retail price shaft right now from Richard with all the options. I HAD A 21 WEEK WAIT AND I WAS HOUNDING HIM AT THE END- I PAID ANOTHER $25 TO GET IT TO ME 2 DAY UPS SINCE WE WERE THEN RIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS AND I DID NOT WANT TO TRUST THE DELIVERY.
