Hi all,

Much as I hate to admit it...and as great as this cue really is....I'm stuck on cues with a wrap. I took this cue out of the case today, and did some practice strokes on my dining room table....and I just can't wrap my head around the wrap thing (meaning a lack thereof).

In NO WAY is this intended to be an affront to Kevin...he's a great guy, a great cuemaker...and this cue really is a work of art. Very well done, and I'm told it's a killer player (since it's still new, I haven't hit a ball with it).

To that end, I'm putting this cue up for TRADE (cash is fine, too...but I'm wanting a player's cue). I'm looking for nice hitting cue with a wrap. I'm really interested in finding a Coker....but any trade/partial offer for a nice wrapped cue will be considered (nothing outlandish...money-wise. I'm working on a SEVERELY constrained budget, compared to what I've had in the past).

Cue is 58" long and weights right around 18.8-18.9 oz (by my kitchen scale). Buttsection is right around 14.6oz....and the LAMINATED shaft is right around 4.2oz. Rosewood points into maple. Rosewood handle. Black buttcap with Hoppe ring. Black phenolic collars with Micarta ringwork. One shaft at 13mm with an Ivorene 4 ferrule and Sumo tip. CUE IS NEW AND UNUSED!!!

Hit me up with any trade/partial trade offers. I can MAYBE sink a LITTLE money into a replacement, depending on the cue. We all know I have $250 in this cue (it's the DaytonaJoe Special from a few weeks ago)...and Kevin's regular price is $500.

Is this full spliced cue? I don't think so based on last photo ... but wanted to be sure.

Jazz,

No sir, it's not a full splice. The handle is a seperate piece...and the woodgrain between the handle and the points is different.

Thanks much,

Mark

What u want for it?
I want a different cue for it....a good player's cue with a wrap. No specific maker in mind. I'll know when I hear/see it.

As far as selling goes, make a fair offer, and we can dance from there! :)Somewhere between what it's worth, and what I paid for it (1/2 price), is a good window to work in.

Thanks!

Why not, just add a wrap.
Mike,

I thought about that...and actually talked to Kevin about it, too. I figured I'd give it some time, initially....but I just couldn't wrap my head around not having a wrap (it's what I've gotten used to over the last 2 years). I wouldn't want to change ANYTHING about the cue Kevin made, though....it was built that way for a reason, and far be it from me to change it, ya know?

I thought this cue would be better suited to someone who likes a wood handled feel......

Thanks much,

Rat

Why not just play with the Cue for a Week or Two before giving up on it.....
Heya Sleuth,

I know....I know....I should just shut up and color.....

If I did take it out...it would then be a used cue. I didn't want to use a cue I was almost sure I would either have to trade out of or change from its original condition. I picked up the cue because it really was a STEAL of a deal...and I tried to convince myself that I could work around it....but I couldn't even take practice swings at the chow-table without feeling "weird" with the wood handle.

Hey....I tried!! :)

Good Luck with your Sale, maybe Daytona Joe wants it...
Perhaps....

There's been a fair amount of interest so far......most folks on here know that Kevin makes a great cue!

At the price you got it for and with it not being a full splice anyway, I'd play with it for a while and then put a wrap on it if I decided I wanted one.

I've got Varneys and they are great hitting cues.

Want A Bluegrass Cue....it's Gotta Be Fate!!!

Mornin' all,

As I had a bit of good fortune this morning, I'm looking to sell this cue and get into another one.

To that end, THIS BRAND NEW VARNEY SP WILL GO TO THE FIRST GUY WITH 300. It will be shipped (included in the sale price) via USPS Priority Mail, insured and tracked.

Thanks!!!

Mark

Have you asked Kevin if he can put a wrap on the existing cue, he might be able to.
