I have been pondering buying a Break Cue, but am consider another possibility of a Jump/Break Combination.

I can do a fair job of JUMPING with a light Weight House Cue, so I am pondering just getting a BREAK Cue, and forgetting about a JUMP BUTT, or Combination.

Any suggestion with good reason why to get a Jump/Break Combination Cue

My suggestion is to buy tools for specific jobs, unless you can't afford 2 or 3 tools.

Why not have the best of two worlds into one tool, the fury jump/break cue.

Hard Hitting Timber

Check out Arnot-Q's at www.arnotq.com. Read the testamonials. You decide. They are a bit pricey but nobody and I mean nobody makes a jump break better than Arnot.

The only very very small difference between an Arnot-Q dedicated jump break cue and a dedicated jump cue only is that a phenolic tip will provide a slight advantage over a very hard water buffalo tip on a jump break cue.
The hard water buffalo tip optimizes cue ball control on the break with only a very small loss of jump capability (depending on your skill level you can jump a half ball distance with this combo).

Good luck on your search!

While I've not used an Arnot j/b I would have to say that Andy Gilbert makes a damn fine j/b cue! An added bonus is that Andy's j/b cues are great players as well!

nice Web-site.... :)

I'd recommend a jump/break cue over just a break cue anyday. THe phenolic tip on the jump/break can mean that the cue is difficult to control but, but hitting center cue ball with a solid, follow-through stroke and hitting the lead ball squarely, you'll park the cue ball in the middle of the table every time. The phenolic tip and removable butt section makes jumping a breeze.
Gilbert makes one of the best jump/breaks around. I prefer his jummp/break to Mike Gulyassey's Sledgehammer. Although, if you're looking for inexpensive, J&J sells them on ebay for like, $35 bucks a piece. Thats the one I favor. Looks like a Gilbert and gets the job done well.

I have just purchased a stinger j/b cue and I was wondering if had made the right choice as I have never owned j/b cue before?

Well, it just wouldn't be like me to ignore this post!!

www.fostercues.com

A few users on here use Foster cues, and are very happy. I have tried a few different break cues including Predator BK and Sledge and i like the foster better. Doug is also fairly inexpensive. Check out my Post on J/B specs that i want to have built for me, i think the title says something about ASH break cue.
