Break cue questions

So..lesson learned...it's very difficult to buy something as personal as a cue for a serious player.

I'll definitely keep that in mind. Nevertheless, a thread like this would still be a great place to start with regards to potential qualities to look for, in case he decides to go with a custom or something.

Also, how much of a gimmick is LD when it comes to breaks? Intuitively, it sounds like it greatly shortens the lifespan of the shaft. A google search reveals so many shattered ferrules and shafts of a BK2.

The Jerico stinger hands down is the best j/b cue I have ever hit. It has a conical tapered shaft but for a break cue it is exactly what I want. Ask and see his preference because he may not like a certain taper the mezz break cue is very solid if he prefers a smaller diameter shaft.

I have one and it is a monster. There may be better break cues, but for the money, it's been my experience, that these are an excellent buy.

How are those as a jump cue?

It has worked out really nice for me. They call that tip "crystal", whatever that is. Maybe something like a G10 tip. Great J B cue for the price

I wish I had that problem :-)
I always envisioned exploding my shaft and ferrule on the break but it's never worked out for me. Lol.
I'm using a Pred BK2 for years, hits a ton and still like new. Occasional miscue that goes along with the tip setup.
