Break cues w/ carbon shafts- why aren't there more?

My personal preferences fly in the face of most the comments thus far.

Until there isn't a tree I can harvest and get someone to turn down, I'll be using wood as my playing shaft. However, I just made the switch to a CF breaker (Mezz PB-G) and the difference is quite notable.

My 'power' break has always been the weakest part of my game. The energy transfer into a CB squarely hit by a CF shaft and hard tip is something to behold. Now the price tag isn't for the weak of heart, but if you're looking for an edge and are willing. Totally worth the investment imo. I've hit the Mezz, Predator, and Jacoby CF breakers. For the most part the only real difference is in the tip. Out of the stock tips and White Diamond swap outs, the Mezz Sonic tip is still my fav.

Aren't carbon fiber cues generally:

1) same weight, and
2) more stiff

than their wood counterparts??
Yes, generally. CF can be super stiff of flexible. All depends on material and how its wound/laid up. Weight can vary based on the foam used to fill it, how much of it is filled, the joint component and ferrule/plate weight.

I've been on a bit of a break cue search recently, tried some cheap chinese breakers, players, j&j, spark, will move up to some better brands soon including carbon after I try out a couple more cheapies (Rhino and Billiards warehouse house special)

fwiw, in the meantime best results for me have been with my playing shaft, 12.5 cynergy and stock tip

my break speeds as measured by the app are slightly higher with this cue and i can consistently hit the headball more accurately, closed bridge on a long pro taper so no surprise there, and generally better cueball control

are there other factors other than cueball speed that can cause a rack to "spread" better?

i've heard of these cynergy ferrules breaking when used for breaking on a regular basis. i've alked to a couple repair guys who are making new one's from juma or tomahawk.
