I have not found a break cue that I am I am truly happy with. So I was hoping you would share your personal favorite but also in the context of others you have tried.

So far for me (see format below)

----------------

Favorite:
Diveney J/B

Others tried:
BK3
Mezz Power Break
J&J
Gulyassy Anvil (jumped really good)

I like my Pechauer break cue for the money, less than 200.00

Others I have owned:
Omen x 2
Gilbert x 3
Baxter
Lomax x 2

I found the Lomax to hit the hardest with the Omen and Gilbert a close second with better control. The Gilberts were better as a playing cue than was the Lomax. The Baxter was also a great cue and I should have probably kept it but had to try different breakers,

You can't go wrong with any of the above break or J/B cues.

I've tried a custom, BK2, and OB break cues, but by far the best for me is the McDermott NG05 with a Samsara tip.

I have a Poison break/jump that I'm really happy with for both breaking & jumping. The only downside is the wrap which is clearly not holding-up but eventually, I'll get around to gluing it back on.

My personal fav is the Mezz Dual Force but it's a little pricey. I find it very easy to jump with and accurate. It also serves as an excellent break cue.

Can't go wrong with a J&J, if you're looking for cheap.

If you're looking to spend $300+, I would look into getting a dedicated break and dedicated jump cue, unless you specifically want one cue.

I use a BK2 with Samsara tip for breaking. I regret that I got it in a trade for my Mezz Powerbreak as I liked the Mezz better. But the rubber grip destroyed my case, so I needed a wrapless one. It might be that a skilled player achieves better cueball control, but I like the more powerful break the Mezz delivers. I don't practice breaking, so it's good when the cueballs stays on the table. I occasionally achieve a good break killing the whiteball...

For jumping I use a German made "Franz Hauber custom". Jumps well, offers good CB control.

I'll sell both and buy an Arthur B/J, as I was totally convinced when I tried one. Does everything better than all the above... They retail for 400 Euros, but I'll get a used one with quite a big damage on the buttcap. So I'll make a profit and if I want I can have Marcus repair it

Gilbert

I have used a J&J, Lomax, Pechauer, Omen, Baxter and a few others I am sure I have forgotten but I keep with my Gilbert. A very close second was an old Cuetec with a super slim shaft. it was ugly but had awesome control and consistent breaks. I still have it as a backup.

I do want to try a samsara jump/break but hate to spend that much to try one. That's a lot to not like it.

I have to agree

I have a Kaiser Jump break (Made by J&J)

Hits a frigging ton on break and jumps beautifully

I have several high end playing cues but i couldnt see going out and dropping 3 + Benjamin Franklins on a Break / Jumper

That little Kaiser is the best 70 bucks i have spent in 26 years of playing

Sledgehammer is tried and true design. I believe Mike Gulyassy made the first ones, Samsara made some limited editions, and now McDermott has taken over production.
