Break shaft Ferrule repair

Two things:
1) I got a hairline crack in my Ignite G ferrule, and I am considering whether to have it repaired or to leave it. It doesn't currently affect the breaking, make any strange sound or anything like that. But I am concerned it is a problem waiting to happen. I can have it repaired for around 400rmb (40$) - Wondering if it's worth doing, and if anyone has experience with replacing the ferrule on a carbon break shaft to share. Whether the IGG (or whatever Mezz calls it) is easy to replicate? Whether it is going to be a lasting repair on a carbon shaft? Which I imagine is not going to be as consistent as a repair to a wood shaft being a less malleable material.

2) Picked up a spare united joint break shaft from a brand called 'Gold9' - made in Japan apparently. Bought it second hand for 1200rmb (120$), and it looks (as you'd expect Japanese product to be) very well made. Slightly slower taper than the Ignite G resulting in a 12.9mm tip (compare to my Ignite G which is just below 12.8mm with a more pronounced taper). Hit a handful of racks with it last night. Quite happy with it. Will hit a few more later and stick some thoughts and pictures here. Anyone heard of this brand before?

To be honest, even with the slight crack, I could likely sell the Ignite G for more than I have paid for this Gold9, as they don't come up often on re-selling apps

So you think that crack is just going to stay like that? By not doing anything you are risking the integrity of the carbon fibre tube itself. Changing the ferrule on a Ignite break shaft is no different than any other carbon fibre shaft. Use G10 material and obviously the correct type of epoxy.
$40 is dirt cheap. I would charge double that.

Thank you for the feedback, I had one guy tell me not to worry, and another say to change it. Your answer lines up with my thoughts.
I have asked the guy about the material and resin he plans to use.
China prices and work quality is unbeatable. Think I will move. forward with the repair.

He says he is getting the material directly from Mezz. So, I am curious how it turns out. Little roll of the dice.

So, the ferrule repair… Fast, high quality. Was nothing wrong with my break before. But I can tell the difference big time. Very happy camper. Overwhelmed with the quality for price. Kamui Sai Hard, ferrule repair, there and back in a day. Paid for the table fee at the hall of my choice while I tested it out. 400rmb (40$).

Also, the gold9 shaft is a gun. Certainly more suitable for 8/10 ball breaking in my opinion. But a great shaft nonetheless. Likely keep it as a spare.

Thanks KimBye for the little extra push I needed to get it sorted.
