The format was to start each day with a teams match (everyone plays one game, then repeat until one side wins 5 games), then doubles matches (6 were played), and singles matches (5 were played). • Magic Ball Rack racking template;
• referee racks with the 9-ball on the foot spot and the 2-ball on one of the wings or in the back location;
• alternate breaks from behind the head string in a box approximately 8" to each side of the long string;
• no illegal break rule, but the referee is to enforce a forceful-break rule;
• 30-sec. shot clock (60 sec. after the break or a push out), with one 30-sec. extension per side per game;
• foul on all balls;
• 3-foul rule in effect (no violations);
• jump cues allowed;

Miscellany from the data for the 2026 Reyes Cup

■ The most balls made on a single break was 3, done just once, by Van Boening, who lost that game.

■ 38% (41 of 109) of the games ended in one inning -- 20% (22) won by the breaking side (B&R) and 17% (19) won by the non-breaking side.

■ The average match score was 5-2.3, with no matches ending at 5-0, six at 5-1, none at 5-2, eight at 5-3, and one at 5-4.

■ Elapsed time per match, in minutes:
• 49 average for all 15 matches;
• 62 for the longest match -- the 5-3 Teams match on Day 4;
• 38 for the shortest match -- the Biado/Capito d. Filler/Pecelj 5-1 match on Day 1.
The elapsed time was measured from the lag until the winning ball was made, so it includes time for racking and commercial breaks. Commercial breaks were significant in these matches, generally occurring after every 3 games in a match, and lasting about 3 minutes each.

■ Minutes per game:
• 6.8 average for all 15 matches. Estimated at 6.4 not counting commercial breaks (but counting a minute for the racking that occurred during the breaks);
• 8.3 for the match highest in average minutes per game -- Gorst/Van Boening d. Januarta/Manas 5-1;
• 5.6 for the two matches lowest in average minutes per game -- Gorst/Pecelj d. Duong/Manas 5-3 and Biado/Januarta d. Filler/Gorst 5-3.

■ Breaking fouls averaged 1 for every 21.8 games, other fouls 1 for every 3.2 games, and missed shots about 1 for every 1.6 games.

■ One or more safeties were played in about 52% of all games and in 66% of games that were not B&Rs.

Regarding Balls Made on the Break:

Team ROW averaged 1.1 balls per break on all breaks (58 balls on 55 breaks) and 1.2 balls per break on successful breaks (54 balls on 44 breaks).

Team Asia averaged 1.0 balls per break on all breaks (54 balls on 54 breaks) and 1.2 balls per break on successful breaks (50 balls on 41 breaks).

Distribution of balls made on the 109 breaks:
• 1s here means the 1-ball in the side pocket on the opposite side of the table from the breaker;
• w means the wing ball on the same side of the table as the breaker, in the nearest corner pocket

- made 1s, but no other balls -- occurred 59 times (59 balls pocketed, including 2 on fouls)
- made 1s plus 1 other ball, but not w -- 14 times (28 balls, including 6 on fouls)
- made w, but no other balls -- 1 time (1 ball)
- made w and other ball or balls, but not 1s -- 0 times
- made both 1s and w, but no others -- 6 times (12 balls)
- both 1s and w and other ball or balls -- 1 time (3 balls)
- made neither 1s nor w, but 1 other ball -- 9 times (9 balls)
- dry, but no foul -- 19 times
- dry and fouled -- 0 times
Total -- 109 breaks, 112 balls pocketed (including 8 on 5 fouls)

The 1-ball was pocketed on 74% (81 of 109) of all breaks (including fouled breaks), and 89% (76 of 85) of the successful breaks. This includes a 1-ball in a corner pocket at the head of the table once.

The wing ball on the same side of the table as the breaker was pocketed in the corner pocket nearest to it on 7% (8 of 109) of the breaks. All of these wing balls were kicked in by other ball(s) rather going in untouched.
