Well I'm always full of questions .

So my question this time is what is the best tip size for a break cue .

My predator is 12.75 mm breaks ok but not thrilled . I used my playing cue just one time tonight and planted the cue ball perfect in the middle of the table . Now my playing cue has a 13 mm tip .

So I think it's time to change break cues or shafts because I'm not thrilled with my results with a 12.75 mm tip .

So can anyone can help me out ???

I recently bought a Sniper II Break Jump. It comes with a 14mm phenolic tip. It breaks awesome. I can park the cueball a lot more consistenly. Where as with my BK2 the cueball is all over the place. My BK2 is collecting dust in my closet. I might sell it soon.

I don't think it matters and I wouldn't go getting a different break cue based on one break where you squatted the cueball.

Consistancy is what you're looking for.
If you have an accurate and repeatable stroke that will help things alot.
In my opinion, the cue isn't the problem.

There are a fair number of people that like to break with a house cue.

Before I bought my predator I had another break cue that I used and had no problems with squating the white and since I've bought it I've had problems .

I just want some imput on what other people use for a tip size on there break cues .

In theory a larger diameter shaft/tip will be stiffer. It should deflect less and transfer more power to the CB at the same cue speed.

That is why most break cues and jump cues are 14mm dia.

I had a Viking J/B that was probably at a 13.85 tip diameter and I miss it so  I've been breaking decent with an old Viking player which has a 12.75mm tip dia., pro taper and a medium tip. However I do like at least a 13mm for my breaker with a semi stiff taper. Even though I'm a Predator fan, I'll most definitely be getting an OB Break cue because it meats all the specs I want in a breaker. I'm not a fan of the idea of breaking with a uniloc joint, nor a 12.75mm tip diameter.

I do believe you can order a OB Break Shaft for your BK2 Butt, Landon Shuffett has this mix ( or did ).
