I don’t usually ask these questions but I hate the phenolic tip thats on my bk rush right now. I’m thinking about just getting a predator victory hard and putting it on there.. So instead of taking a wild guess I thought I’d see if theirs a tip that the majority are using and liking right now.. what are you guys using?

Kamui Sai Hard and Zan Double face are what I'm using at the moment, I much prefer them to phenolic / synthetic tips

I have the HORO Black Storm on my Breaker, and the White Storm on my Jumper. I like them both.
👍

I have a White Diamond on one break cue and the Samsara on another. I like them both.
I might give the Kamui Sai a chance when and if I’ll need to replace the tip

Either a White Diamond or one of the clear lexan tips. I like the extra ball speed a good synthetic gives you. If going leather i'd use a WB, gotta be the hardest single layer tip out there.

I've gone through the gambit on break tips.

I tried the tiger ice breaker, it hit good but it was brittle and chipped if you looked at it wrong.

The bulletproof clear is what I settled on because it's firm but not glass like, and it holds chalk well. Phenolic is a little too hard and doesn't hold chalk for shit.

bulletproof is a lexan tip, they are nice. i'm currently using a white diamond and it works good too.

I think to determine what you might like, you should share what it is you don't like about the Hybrid bk rush tip?

how much chalk do you need for one single stroke per rack?
Enough that it doesn't miscue the one time I reach for it.

I've used some phenolic tips that would lose all the chalk if you just gently blew on the tip. Phenolic doesn't take scuffing very well, unlike other materials.

I'm not a centerball guy on the break, so chalk means a lot to me, and a tip being able to retain that chalk is paramount. It's just one less thing to worry about on arguably the most crucial shot of the game.

chalking before each use isnt enough either?
thats interesting putting spin on a break shot ,
considering it a critical shot, id want to keep it as under control as possible

I play on barbox diamonds, and 8 on the breaks count in my league.

So, it's an advantage to break from the side, hit the second ball, and try to make the 8. It's a disadvantage thought to lose the cueball in the mix and have it sit on the opposite short rail. So, I like to throw a little low right spin on the cue, this makes it draw into the long rail after contact with the 2nd ball, and it usually either shoots back into the pack and scatters it more, or it comes back out near mid table for me. It's a very common break on bar boxes, and people who do them have all experimented with spin and found what works for them.

9ft table, headball break, I'm doing a little top spin and a pop break, or centerball and smacking the shit out of it and pray the rock squats in the center.
