In a General sense, how is it going for players having
to break from the box? Are they make balls a good
percentage of the time? having trouble with it?

and are they getting a 1 ball shot after the break?

Ballpark percentages are just fine...

With the 9 on the spot, super tight pockets & a break box the size of a cocktail napkin, breaking has been pretty brutal. At 1st it was pretty bad but as the week went on, word got out....cross break (double break). Crossing the 1 ball, cue into the side rail & then back into the rack. You lose control of whitey but at the same time, you're getting more action on the balls & making more on the break.

Thanks ...

Actually I used to use that type of break for 3 ball, and
it worked pretty good at one time. I just called it a
crossover break at the time.

LOL, in 3 days I've heard it called Cross break, double break, cut break, & now crossover break. 4 terms for one break... LOL

I think I made the CB more often than an OB. Breaking from that box was brutal for me.
Every match I watched had a min of 2 scratches on the break.... short stops & champions... all of them... That's the risk of using that break, but at the same time, you need to pocket a ball on the break too..... tough choices to make on tough tables last week. Walter, I hope you had a good time & was able to enjoy yourself, regardless of the outcome....it's all about the experience. This was my very 1st open.... It was very thrilling to be there because I have wanted to go since I was a teenager. I wasn't disappointed!
