Breaking with a Predator P2 (using butt different shaft)

For years Ive always used a house cue to break or ill attach a make-shift break shaft onto my playing cue (predator sneaky) and im starting to wonder if i should invest in a separate breaking cue.

My playing cue will soon be a Predator P2 and im trying to adore it :). Im wondering if i were to attached a $40 shaft onto it just to break, will the constant pressure "hurt" the radial construction of the P2 ?

If you're asking why dont i just buy a completely seperate breaking cue.. its because my case can only fit 1 butt 2 shafts and i dont feel like spending more money on a different case just to carry a breaking cue. And plus, i LOVE my GTF 1x2 case.

Correct me if I'm wrong. So, you plan on changing shafts everytime you break? I would definately buy a dedicated break cue. It's worth the money. If you love you case so much just buy the same case in a 2x2 configuration.

HA.

No it won't hurt the butt, cause there built like stone. As far as
switching shafts everytime you break sounds like a headache
in the making. If I had to change my shaft everytime I broke,I think i would lose on purpose so my opponent could break:grin-square:

You should buy a Predator BK2 and a Predator 314-2 shaft, or maybe call Predator to see if you can buy a BK2 butt. I shoot with another cue but should this cue become temporarily unuseable, I pool out my 314-2 shaft and put it on my BK2 butt. It is lighter than my Sneaky Pete Predator (21 oz), but it will get me through the night.
