bridge length

My improved rhythm has accelerated my learning curve, however I have noticed that my bridge length is shorter than average. I am wondering whether to make a conscious effort to lengthen it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I would focus more on a smooth follow-through and keeping the head still rather than the bridge length.

In fact, you can have a shorter 9" bridge and then follow through more than half the length of the shaft. Some players have long bridges but do not fully utilize that length as they don't pull the shaft back to the ferrule for most of their shots.

If you are comfortable with your bridge length and the rock does what you want it to do, I don't see the need to change for change's sake.

yeah what stan said........usually a longer bridge just amplifies whatever problems you have......so if youre shooting good i wouldnt worry about it.

dear berlowmj,

what are you? mississippi? hudson? colorado? either one, be sure you use hi crome rebar and pH basic concrete. shoot all shitting birds :( that may surround you with salt pellets and hopefully that way they will likely spill elsewhere.

jokes aside. the length depends on the width. when i shoot wide i use a shorter bridge and when i'm dead on i increase the distance. if i shoot low i step back and the vise versa for follows.

hope this helps.

I actually understood that. Thank you... in a way.
