I wouldn't keep a dog in the house anyway. Especially a 80 pound 1.
Those faces. I can't help myself. Challenging but rewarding. Sounds like you have a monster over there.thats a beautiful breed

I was living with a fiery redhead when I bought my yellow lab. She didn't want him in the house. That lasted about 5 minutes.
She was adamant that he would never be in the bed. I told her he was too little to go all night without going outside so I put his puppy crate on a table next to the bed so that I could jump up and let him out when he needed to go. On the second night I got up to let him out only he wasn't in his crate. He was in bed with the redhead, sharing her pillow. He obviously liked her more than me.
Que?What
Leave it and drop it are both great.Teach him the leave it command and treat him heavy. Try to catch him when he's just about to jump up to grab it, say leave it, if he does it's party time!
The dead animals and God knows what they think is a good idea. Just those two commands have saved so many headaches.Leave it and drop it are both great.
try using taom chalk, it leaves less residue
Cancel the Masters and order a large box of Taom or Kamui and lets see how quick you teach Brody not to chew the chalk. lolHe's a 9 month old Golden Retriever. He's a big boy weighing in at about 80 pounds. Tall enough to reach the chalk on the rail of my Centennial Pro 8 without jumping up. Its hard to train myself to remember to remove the chalk every time I leave the table. Phone rings. Dog grabs chalk. Bathroom break. Dog grabs chalk. He really likes to chew chalk but he doesn't eat the chalk, just breaks into about 20 pieces that I have to pick out of the carpet. I've caught him in the act a few times and smacked his snout while issuing a stern "NO". He doesn't seem to mind. He is a smart dog and will eventually learn. In the meantime, I just ordered a large box of blue Master.
My dog, when he was a puppy, was outside for 30 minutes tied onto a 55# weight. He dragged the weight 20' over to the side of the house and attacked a wasp hive that we didn't know was under the siding. He was having a grand old time biting wasps. Pain isn't a good deterrent, some dogs get tuned in and lose all common sense. Especially terriers. Terrier brain says bite sharp bugs and don't stop. It's a game to them.hot sauce on the chalk thats on the table may work. if not glue or tape some short nails to some chalk so when he grabs it he gets stuck but not sharp enough nails to do damage.
