Broke a White Diamond and phenolic ferrule

So I was breaking during league tonight and the tip and ferrule on my break cue decided to come apart. About 1/4 of the tip and ferrule directly under the broken tip flew apart. I do break hard, about 29mph.

Is there a better tip and type of ferrule to use? Something that can stand my abuse?

A G-10 tip/ferrule combo with reversed tenon will work good. Pretty good cue ball control from a G-10, considering its a phenolic. Provided that the league allows it.

Don't always blame the product

Most anything manufactured in quantity is subject to occasional imperfections.

I like the White Diamond tips myself, and have improved a number of jump cues by replacing the original tip with a White Diamond.

I love the white diamond tips. Have never had an issue with them. Keep in mind even a Rolls Royce breaks down. :) &hit happens.

That s funny I cant keep my WD tip on the Ferrule long enough to break it:confused: It must have flown off 20 time so far.

If you do need something THAT strong, I suggest you get a G10 tenon/ferrule/tip installed. If you break that, then you need to fix your stroke or lighten up.

Care to put a video of your break up? I'm curious to see it myself.

I break 23mph on average with a high of around 26-27 mph. I've only broken one tenon, never a tip or ferrule.

WD fly off?

I had that happen a few times, till I began putting glue on the tip and ferrule, letting it dry and then re-gluing and setting the tip on the ferrule.

There's nothing wrong with your "abuse".

Stuff breaks , don't dwell on it. Just replace it.

Dropped of the shaft for repair today and found that my break cue had a Samsara tip and not a white diamond.
I'm fine with stuff breaking once in a while. I just thought I had something a little more durable. No biggie. It's getting the G-10 treatment. My repair guy plays on my Monday night team so he'll do me right :)
